Customer story: Base Jump
Base Jump bounced from Excel to RotaCloud back in 2017 — and took back hours of admin in the process
With more than 35,000 square feet of interconnecting trampolines, activities and ninja fun, Base Jump's mission is to enable people of all ages to take part in regular exercise in a safe, fun environment.
With dozens of staff on the books, Base Jump’s managers were finding it difficult to keep on top of their rotas.
“We used to plan our rotas on a spreadsheet, which was very time-consuming, particularly with the inevitable changes that were necessary with a 75-strong workforce, Managing Director James Brennan told us.
”This represented a real challenge for our management team.“
Painfully aware of how much time his team were losing while they battled with spreadsheets and communicating shift changes to staff, James decided to look for a better way of managing their rotas.
The ease of reporting at the click of a button means that we can swiftly and efficiently ensure our workforce is on-site, on time, and for the right roles.
“RotaCloud stood out for us due to its ease of setup,” James told us. “We liked the simplicity of how changes are made and how information flows to all staff and management.”
Now that they’ve eliminated their rota woes, James feels that he is now better able to serve his customers, as well as take proper care of his staff.
“The ease of reporting at the click of a button means that we can swiftly and efficiently ensure our workforce is on-site, on time, and for the right roles,” he explained.
“This means that we can concentrate on providing the best possible service and that all our staff are treated fairly.”
Asked how RotaCloud has most benefited Base Jump, James said that the system had “significantly reduced” his team’s rota planning time, as well as making it easier for his managers to communicate with staff. His team, in turn, have really taken to RotaCloud.
“They love the system and its ease of checking them in and out,” he said. ”They very quickly saw the benefits of RotaCloud.”
