Also known as holiday entitlement, annual leave refers to paid time off that employees are entitled to either as part of their employment contract or as a result of holiday they’ve accrued.
In most circumstances, annual leave can be taken whenever an employee wishes (with reasonable notice), although some employers will make use of leave embargoes during particularly busy periods to ensure that they have enough staff scheduled to work to meet demand.
Staff whose employers use RotaCloud can request leave directly through the RotaCloud mobile app. Managers then receive a notification of the request, including start and end dates and the type of leave requested, and either approve or deny the request.
If leave is granted, RotaCloud will automatically mark this on the staff rota, as well as deducting the requested number of holidays from the employee’s remaining allowance.
