Whether it’s because of FOGOH (Fear of Going on Holiday) and the mountain of work you’d return to, worrying about leaving your team in the lurch, or simply being too busy to take a break, the average UK employee ends the year with leave untaken. In fact, 69% of people didn’t take their full annual leave allowance last year, and the average person left more than a full week of leave (5.2 days) unused.
On average we take 26.6 days off (out of an average allowance of 31.8). But in some industries the amount of time off taken is much lower.
